UKVEC PRIVACY

Privacy notice

This notice explains how WIDERSOLUTIONS LIMITED uses personal information when you use UKVEC, buy a Full UKVEC Report or contact support.

1. Who is responsible for your information

WIDERSOLUTIONS LIMITED, company number 09878083, is the operator of UKVEC and the controller for personal information collected through the UKVEC service where we decide how and why that information is used.

Registered office: Suite A, 82 James Carter Road, Mildenhall, IP28 7DE. Privacy and support enquiries can be sent to support@ukvec.co.uk.

2. Information we use

  • Vehicle registration and report-request information.
  • Checkout and transaction references, payment status, purchase time and the email address returned by Stripe where supplied. UKVEC does not store your full card number.
  • Technical and security information such as request timestamps and service logs used to protect the service and investigate failures or abuse.
  • For free-check abuse prevention, the service may derive a daily-rotating cryptographic identifier from network request information. The rate-limit record does not need to store the raw network address.
  • Information you provide when you contact UKVEC support.

3. Why we use it

We use purchase and report information where it is necessary to provide the service you requested, verify payment, issue report access, fulfil and retrieve the report, and deal with support requests.

We may use limited technical and transaction information for our legitimate interests in securing UKVEC, preventing fraud and bulk abuse, diagnosing service failures, maintaining audit evidence and protecting supplier data. Where a legal obligation requires records to be kept, we use the information for that obligation.

4. Who we share information with

  • Stripe, as the payment provider for Checkout and payment confirmation.
  • Microsoft Azure, which hosts UKVEC application and private report-entitlement storage.
  • Licensed vehicle-data providers where a registration must be submitted to obtain the vehicle information requested by the customer.
  • Professional advisers, regulators, law-enforcement bodies or courts where disclosure is required or permitted by law.

5. How long we keep information

UKVEC keeps information only for as long as needed for report delivery and retrieval, customer support, accounting and tax records, fraud/security evidence, dispute handling and other legal obligations. The final paid-report retention period will be set within the data supplier's licensed retention terms before live supplier persistence is enabled.

Short-lived free-report reuse is disabled unless the supplier licence permits it. Rate-limit identifiers rotate daily and are held only to protect the service from excessive automated free lookups.

The production application is technically gated so live paid-report persistence cannot be enabled until the supplier display and retention position has been approved.

6. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to access, correct or erase personal information, restrict or object to certain processing, and receive certain information in a portable format. Some rights do not apply where information must be retained for legal claims, accounting, fraud prevention or another lawful reason.

You can contact support@ukvec.co.uk to exercise a privacy right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how your personal information is handled.

7. Automated Buyer Score

UKVEC may calculate a Buyer Score from vehicle and MOT signals using fixed rules. It is buyer guidance about a vehicle and is not an automated decision about the customer that creates legal or similarly significant effects.
