Where UKVEC vehicle data comes from

DVLA vehicle records

The DVLA vehicle enquiry integration can provide basic vehicle details and available tax and MOT status. These records do not establish legal ownership or annual road-tax cost. A DVLA-specific result is shown only when that source returns data.

DVSA MOT records

MOT history includes available test results, defects, advisories and recorded odometer readings. UKVEC supports DVSA MOT history and a commercial MOT delivery route; use the source availability shown in your report rather than assuming every record was retrieved directly.

Vehicle Data Global

Commercial vehicle-data integrations supply enriched identity and specifications and licensed paid provenance through Vehicle Data API, including finance, stolen and write-off records where returned. Coverage differs by vehicle and source.

UKVEC interpretation

UKVEC turns available records into buyer questions and decision-support signals. These are our interpretation, not a government assessment, certified mileage or a guarantee of condition.

Unavailable is different from no marker returned

Sources can fail or have incomplete coverage. An unavailable section remains unknown; it must not be read as a clear result. Match the VIN and documents and resolve discrepancies before payment.

Questions about free checks and full reports

Is the free check really free?

Yes. UKVEC’s available vehicle, MOT and recorded-mileage first look is free and requires no account. The full provenance report is a separate £5.99 one-off purchase.

What does the £5.99 report add?

Available licensed provenance such as finance interests, stolen-status and insurance write-off records, with buyer guidance. The exact fields depend on supplier coverage.

Is this a real vehicle report?

No. Every result on this page is fictional and illustrative. No registration or personal information is shown. Your actual report depends on the vehicle and data returned.

Does no marker returned mean guaranteed clear?

No. It describes the available response at the time of the check. Unrecorded events, delays, identity mismatches and source gaps can still matter.

Is UKVEC affiliated with HPI or government agencies?

No. UKVEC is an independent service. HPI is a trademark of HPI Ltd. Naming DVLA or DVSA records does not imply government endorsement.
